Sharing your story - the difference it makes

26/04/2017

Local doctors' surgeries have been told they can not refuse to give patients' ear-syringing treatment.

We raised this issue with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) after we heard that some people were having problems getting treatment at their GP surgery.

Our local health commissioners told us that GPs should be providing ear syringing to those who need it.

As a result of our feedback, the CCG will be telling surgeries that they should be providing ear wax removal as part of their GP Treatment Room contract. All GP surgeries in Cambridgeshire are currently signed up to this enhanced contract.

Please do let us know if you come across any problems getting treatment at your GP surgery.
