NHS Constitution - know your rights

The NHS Constitution the NHS belongs to us allThe NHS Constitution explains what choices you have when using health care services. It also tells you about the values on which the NHS is based and the pledges which the NHS is committed to achieve.

In April 2016 the Department of Health published extra guidance to help you get more information about:

  • when you have choices about your health care
  • where to get more information to help you choose
  • how to complain if you are not offered a choice

The guidance gives examples of how different choices can work for you and who to contact if you have questions about these choices.
