New Cambridgeshire Housing Repairs and Adaptations Policy Approved

A consultation event was held on 16th October 2024 with members of our Partnership Boards. This provided an opportunity for people’s experiences of housing adaptations to be shared, resulting in valuable feedback that informed amendments incorporated into the proposed policy.

We’re pleased to share that the new Cambridgeshire Repairs, Adaptations and Renewals Policy 2025–2030 has now been approved and is being rolled out across most of the county.

This updated policy sets out how the district councils will support residents who need repairs, adaptations or improvements to stay safe and independent at home. It covers work funded through Disabled Facilities Grants and other local schemes.

The policy is already in place in four districts — Cambridge City, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, and South Cambridgeshire. Huntingdonshire District Council is expected to make a decision on adopting the policy later this month.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation last October. Your feedback helped shape the final policy. A short summary of how the consultation influenced the final version is available on the Cambs HIA website.
