A Huge Success: Our Annual Summit 2025

Our Annual Summit, held on 8 October 2025 at the Delta Marriott Hotel, brought together leaders, professionals, and members of the public for a powerful day of insight, discussion, and shared commitment to improving mental health services across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The event was chaired by Jonathan Jelley MBE JP, His Majesty's Vice-Lord Lieutenant, Brigadier Tim Seal DL officially opened by, setting an inspiring tone for the day.

One of the most memorable moments came from retired Olympic gymnast Louis Smith MBE, who spoke candidly about his personal journey with mental health. Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of six, Louis shared how his gymnastics career shaped and supported him through the challenges of living with the condition.

The morning continued with thought-provoking keynote speeches. Sarah Hughes, CEO of MIND, explored the national context of mental health, while Steve Grange, CEO of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, gave a clear picture of the local services and priorities for people with mental health conditions.

In the afternoon, a panel session brought together experts to answer questions from the public and explore the gaps in mental health provision and what the future of mental health support should look like.

Our distinguished panel included:

  • Jan Thomas, CEO, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board
  • Matt Gladstone, CEO, Peterborough City Council
  • Dr Helen Gilburt, The King’s Fund
  • Jonathan Wells, former carer and advocate

The lively discussion reflected the passion and commitment of everyone in the room to work towards better mental health outcomes for our communities.

The day was a fantastic success, filled with open conversations, expert insight, and shared ambition.

A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, panelists, professionals, and members of the public who joined us and made the summit such a meaningful event.
