Celebrating International Volunteer Day 2025 – Every Contribution Matters
Today we are celebrating International Volunteer Day 2025, a global event created by the United Nations to recognise the incredible impact volunteers make in communities around the world. Since it was established in 1985, the day has grown into a worldwide celebration of people who give their time, skills and energy to help others.
This year’s theme, “Every Contribution Matters,” is a perfect reflection of the work our Healthwatch volunteers do every day. Whether they are listening to people’s stories, supporting engagement events, reviewing services, or helping us reach communities whose voices often go unheard, their contributions truly shape better health and care across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Why our volunteers matter
Our volunteers help us:
- Understand what local people need from health and care services
- Reach communities we might not otherwise hear from
- Gather real experiences to influence decision-makers
- Make sure people’s voices are at the centre of change
Every conversation, every survey shared, every event supported, it all adds up to meaningful impact.
A heartfelt thank you
To all our volunteers: thank you. Your time, passion and commitment make our work possible. You help ensure that local people are listened to, supported, and represented when it matters most.
Today, and every day, we celebrate the difference you make.
