Stewart Francis, Chair of Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Peterborough City Council for his services to Health, Transport, Broadcasting and Culture.

We are looking for local people to join our Board to help us continue to ensure that we are well run and meet our statutory duties as a local Healthwatch. 

As we mark our 10th anniversary, Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is highlighting the difference the public have made to improve NHS and social care services.

Our first Board meeting of 2023 will be attended by our new CEO, Julian Stanley, and include a review provided by our Information and Signposting team.

Healthwatch England is urging NHS England to make progress in its review of the Accessible Information Standard and ensure that all Trusts across the country comply with its legally-binding requirements.

Research conducted by a group of our Healthwatch volunteers, known as Health Champions, has helped us deliver a report into health inequalities affecting people locally.

Our ‘Tackling Health Inequalities’ report shares the findings of a series of workshops conducted by our Health Champion volunteers.

We’re delighted that our Healthwatch Board continues to develop and grow and we recently welcomed two new members; Frances Dewhurst and Ann Green.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Stanley as CEO of Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Julian will succeed Sandie Smith, who is set to retire in March 2023 after ten years in the role.

Rising energy and food bills have been the main focus of the cost-of-living crisis. However, people’s ability to pay their assessed contributions to councils towards their care and support costs has also been affected by the current situation.

Our December meeting will include a review of our strategic priorities as we look ahead to 2023.
